To officially kick-off the sale of the first brand new Mr. Norm’s performance model in more than 35 years, we will be auctioning off production Mr. Norm’s Super Truck Serial #1 AND the Mr. Norm’s Super Truck Concept on eBay Motors on, Wednesday February 20th. The 10 day online auction conducted by ShowYourAuto.com will end on Wednesday the 27th.

The 2008 Mr. Norm’s HEMI Ram 1500 Super Truck is built on the formula that made Mr. Norm famous; fueling passion while respecting the person. That is demonstrated once more in this collectible truck you can really drive. When Mr. Norm ordered performance oriented Mopars new at Grand Spaulding Dodge, he configured each batch to be the best model possible for performance upgrade, carefully choosing the options he knew his customers wanted, allowing them to personalize each vehicle once they took delivery. This time tested approach shows why Mr. Norm is still the King of High Performance. The result is a 2008 Super Truck that gives you real performance, real personalization, and real collectible value delivered at a tremendous value and convenience.

The Mr. Norm’s Concept Super Truck has certainly generated tremendous buzz, premiering at SEMA as the lead vehicle in the Sony Exhibit, being featured in the Dodge Exhibit at numerous auto shows, and earning a ton a magazine coverage. Originally, the Super Truck was to be offered in stock color choices with custom stripes, Electric Blue with Black Stripes, Electric Blue with White Stripes, and Silver with Black Stripes. People were screaming for the concept truck color, Screaming Hemi Orange, Mr. Norm stepped up and added a Show Paint option. This would add some time to the build, and at $17,000 the option is not for the budget minded. What you do get is a show quality Sherwin-Williams Planet Color custom paint job performed by the same professionals that painted the show truck. Even the stripes and the “Super Truck” logo would be painted on and “buried” underneath the clear coat. For those who really want to stand apart, even in amongst an elite class of 100, the Show Paint option is a logical choice.

Once your NST is configured, a $1,500 deposit secures your Mr. Norm’s Super Truck serial number. They are given in a strict first-come, first served, basis. By cooperating with a single dealer for the entire production run, we have eliminated the possibility of the gross dealer markup we’ve seen pervade the market with other limited production vehicles. Just like Mr. Norm did at Grand Spaulding Dodge, we want to give all Mopar enthusiasts equal opportunity. My whole point in creating Show Your Auto llc was to take the tedium out of selling cars for collectors so they can better spend their time enjoying the hobby, while at the same time taking the risks out of buying collectable automobiles over the internet for the buyer.

There is nothing worse than looking for a particular classic which reminds you of your youthful exploits and ending up feeling exploited. We search for the right car, some of us for as long as 30 years, only to end up with dissapointment in the driveway.

Show Your Auto's purchasing process is a best practices approach to preventing such a calamity. We have taken things a much needed step further to make sure all parties, buyer, seller, and broker all agree on what is "as is" when it comes to any given car.

Here is a brief outline of the safeguards outlined in our new Purchase Agreement:

*More accurate and intent language used on the "Vehicle Information Sheet" to describe each vechicle.

Most often, dealer descriptions and private party ads are simply a collection of buzzwords or superlatives designed to pull at the emotional heartstrings of potential buyers. Accuracy is usually a second, or third thought because there is little accountability when it comes to the typical "as is" sale. While it is impossible to tell what your dream car has been doing this past forty or so years, some things are discernable and measurable. A seller throwing his or her arms up and saying, "It is what it is." may have been good enough when these cars were 10K to 30k cars. But now, a good example of nearly any muscle car with desirable options will command $50k to $200k or more.

We have to do better in determining what "as is" is. The Vehicle Information Sheet goes beyond the usual Make, Model, Serial Number found on so many consignment forms. We gather all the other information that you want to know about investment quality automobiles, documenting both originality and documentation. With regard to both, if the owner cannot prove it, we will not promote it.

In addition to a comprehensive Vehicle Information Sheet, a Vehicle Walkaround Sheet is also included as part of the Purchase Agreement and the Seller Agreement. This form gathers objective information about the overall physical condition and mechanical operation of the vehicle.

A promise of accuracy means little unless it is backed up by a means of accountability. We do to things to ensure accountability within our Seller Agreements, opportunity for inspection and right to arbitration.

* All vehicles offered with the right to a pre-purchase inspection. The buyer will have ten (10) days to personally inspect a given car or hire a professional inspector to confirm the condition of the vehicle is indeed as represented by the Seller.

*If it is discovered that the Seller has materially misrepresented the vehicle, the Deposit will be refunded by SYA! llc.

How many places can you actually get your deposit money back from if you are not satisfied with how the car presents compared to its representation. While we at SYA! llc attempt to gain the most comprhensive and accurate picture of what every vehicle is, sometimes even we are surprised. A few customers have thanked us for saving them from buying what could have been an expensive mistake by both allowing them the time to get an accurate and impartial idea of what a car is. When the deposit is refundable, you no longer has to worry about walking away from their down money to avoid the greater cost of undisclosed flaws.

*In the event of a dispute between Buyer and Seller, the matter will be resolved by the American Arbitration Association.

How many times have you done your due dilligence, hired an inspector, and still discovered something significant about the vehicle once you got it home?

Under a normal "as is" private party agreements, or even cars sold through auction or dealership, it is prohibitively exspensive to gain legal remedy in a deal that goes wrong. In the end, the new owner has to spend even more money to correct the problems with the purchase and is left with a heartache AND a headache instead of the car of dreams. Sometimes, unscrupulous buyers simply pass the problem onto the next guy.

In the end, these cars get a "scarlet letter" reputation amongst collectors and always seem to show up at the next auction over and over. Overall, this works to undermine the value of more pristine examples, hurting everyone.
